SHADOWS FALL Singer: 'Even When We Lose, Boston Is Better Than You!'
February 1, 2008SHADOWS FALL frontman Brian Fair has issued the following update:
"Seriously... I didn't think this year good get any better for a Boston sports fan like myself; but now it has.
"First, the Sox won the World Series, then the Celtics got KG and the best record in the NBA, the Pats are only one game away from the first 19 and 0 season in NFL history and now I find out that ESPN will be using our music on 'NFL Live'!!! Our song 'Redemption' from 'Threads of Life' will be featured during the plays of the month on 'NFL Live', which airs daily on ESPN (check local listings for times). I think it will be the perfect soundtrack to all the hard hits and Tom Brady touchdown passes from the post season. As an ESPN junkie, I could not be more stoked to have our music grace the channel that consumes most of my days. Maybe we can record a metal version of the 'SportsCenter' theme song next!!!!
"It's Super Bowl week, my friends, so get the beers on ice and crank some tunes to get ready for the final showdown of the season. Tom Brady and the boys will be tough to beat on Sunday but my über-superstitious nature will not allow me to make a prediction. Just rest assured that I will be on my couch with a cold Budweiser in my hand and my old school lucky Bledsoe jersey on screaming at the TV. All the haters can suck it because even when we lose, Boston is better than you!!"
SHADOWS FALL will perform in the Philippines for the first time ever on Saturday, March 15 at Avenue Hall in Makati (Manila). Part of the proceeds from the concert will go to Diether Ocampo's K.I.D.S. Foundation. Tickets are available at all Odyssey record stores or directly from PULP Magazine.
SHADOWS FALL recently received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category for "Redemption", the first single from the band's newest release, "Threads of Life". This marks SHADOWS FALL's second Grammy nomination in the category, following the group's nod at the 2006 awards for "What Drives The Weak" off the Century Media release "The War Within".
The 50th annual Grammy Awards will be held at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday, February 10, 2007.
SHADOWS FALL's overview of its years as a Century Media recording act (before signing with Atlantic for the U.S. and Roadrunner for Europe),"Seeking the Way: The Greatest Hits", was released in late October.
A SHADOWS FALL B-side from the "Threads of Life" sessions called "Stupid Crazy" is included on the "Resident Evil: Extinction" soundtrack, which was released on September 18 via Lakeshore Records. The film itself hit theaters on September 21.
